Za młodzi, za biedni? Orientacja na małżeństwo młodych dorosłych niebędących w związku małżeńskim

STRESZCZENIE

Młodzi Polacy coraz rzadziej wstępują w związki małżeńskie. W 2013 r. zawarto 180,4 tys. małżeństw – to o ponad 20 tys. mniej niż rok wcześniej. Wraz ze spadkiem liczby zawieranych związków małżeńskich wzrósł z kolei wiek osób, które decydują się na małżeństwo. Wśród powodów, dla których młodzi dorośli nie legalizują intymnych relacji, wymienia się upowszechnienie kultury indywidualizmu, brak gotowości emocjonalnej korelującej z przedłużaniem okresu moratorium psychospołecznego, a także deficyt zasobów finansowych stanowiących niezbędne podłoże dla założenia rodziny. W artykule przedstawiam poglądy młodych dorosłych na instytucję małżeństwa oraz czynniki, które nie/motywują ich do zalegalizowania intymnej relacji.

Too young, too poor?

The attitutudes of young unmarried adults to the institution of marriage.

ABSTRACT

Young Poles are marrying less frequently. In 2013 1,800,000 marriages were concluded, which is over 20.000 less than the year before. Along with the decline in the number of marriages concluded the age of the people who made the decision has increased. Among the reasons for given by young adults for not legalizing their intimate relations are the spteard of the culture of individualism, lack of emotional readiness correlating with a prolonging a period of psychosocial moratorium, and a lack of the financial resources necessary for starting a family. In this article I present the views of young adults on the institution of marriage and the factors which do or do not motivate them to legalise their relationships.
